"Double Happiness" Flasks Design Competition: Showcasing Creativity by Local Hong Kong Designers!
In June 2023, Camel organized a unique flask design competition titled the "2023 Camel Flask Design Competition," open to individuals aged 18 and above across Hong Kong. This competition not only offered substantial cash prizes but also provided an opportunity for the winning designs to become part of Camel's new collection, showcased globally.
Pushing Creative Boundaries: Background of the Competition:
As a local brand in Hong Kong, Camel has always been supportive of promoting local creativity. It created an opportunity for designers who are passionate about Hong Kong culture, nostalgic characteristics, and possess rich imagination and creativity. This competition attracted 50 participants, including students, professionals, full-time designers, and hobbyists.
Theme Design: Traditional Wedding "Double Happiness" Series
The theme of the competition revolves around the traditional Chinese wedding, with the "Double Happiness" character (囍) and paired love birds as the design core. The Camel "Double Happiness" vacuum flask features the paired love birds, symbolizing double joy and eternal happiness. After intense evaluation, two winners emerged as champions, and in December of the same year, the "Double Happiness" flask series was born, offering choices for betrothal gifts and return gifts in the market.
"Double Happiness" Vacuum Flask Series: Selection of Festive Gifts:
In traditional weddings, the betrothal gifts ceremony, known as "Guo Da Li," is an indispensable part. It involves the groom's family selecting an auspicious day and sending gift baskets to the bride's family. These gift baskets typically include items such as red envelopes, pairs of dragon-phoenix candles, dragon-phoenix cakes, pastries, seafood, gold items, three animals meat, fruit baskets, pairs of coconuts, eight treasures, betel nuts, sugar, tea leaves, sesame seeds, bottles of wine, and red ropes. Each item carries symbolic meaning; for instance, coconuts symbolize having sons and grandsons, while the three animals meat represent continuous prosperity and abundance. This series includes two models: the 222 model with a capacity of 950ml and the 116 model with a capacity of 450ml. The 950ml large flask in the "Double Happiness" series is specially designed for wedding gifts and return ceremonies, accompanied by exquisite packaging, containing a pair of 222 model 950ml "Double Happiness" flask, making it an excellent choice for Traditional Chinese wedding gifts. The 450ml flask in the "Double Happiness" series can be purchased individually, serving as a romantic gift for couples or a sweet birthday present, both carrying special meanings.
